No settings seem to get it working, under the Open GL or XVideo plugins. It's been this way for as long as I can remember, just never got around to mentioning it.

It's tire smoke for whenever the car loses traction, around corners, breaking, drift/rally, etc.
It might also be missing in Gran Turismo 1. I'll re-check later.
