Commented Unassigned: Water transparency problem makes Tomb Raider 2 unfinishable [11213]

Tomb Raider 2 (PAL) (Tested with r86688 and also some random earlier revisions, no change) has graphical problems visible from the first level (Great Wall).

The screenshots are taken with an OpenGL plugin with widescreen and accuracy hacks enabled, but the problem remains with software plugins and all hacks disabled.

Note that in the attached screenshots:

1) The water is an opaque black. It should be transparent blue and the ground beneath it should be visible. Note however that the flare that I have thrown under is visible, as are Lara's boots.

2) Lara has disappeared entirely when she is more than waist-deep in this water.

The problem does not occur in ePSXe or pSX, have not tested others.

There are also other graphical problems with this game in PCSXR, such as flickering loading screens with non-software plugins, vertical lines through FMVs, etc. Again these issues do not occur in other tested emulators.

The water issue is most striking though, as it makes it impossible to see when swimming underwater and therefore probably impossible to complete the game.

Running the Tomb Raider 2 v1.3 ROM, with PCSXR 1.9.93 (86936), the water in the beginning of the first level is transparent as it should be but in the next level, Venice, the canal water is just black and Lara turns invisible in it. Impossible to play the game like that. Save state attached.
