Commented Unassigned: Alpha/Transparency issues with Crash Bandicoot [11909]

On OSX, using PCSXR 0.9.7 official release, I'm having alpha/transparency issues on Crash Bandicoot with the OpenGL plugin v1.1.78:

OpenGL 1.1.78:

SoftGL 1.1.17:

Are these known issues? Any way to fix?

I'm an OpenGL developer myself - where should I start looking if I want to try and fix these myself?

I can confirm this error too and need to get fixed so it can be played! :)

OSX 10.10.2
Sony dualshock 3 controller @ bluetooth
PCSX-R 93874, OpenGL Driver 1.1.78 and SDL Sound 1.1.0,
and SCHP1001.bin
