#Word for word. I reach a save point, when I try to pull up the save screen, it just freezes at "checking for memory card, do not switch off power" I've went through every setting possible, i've tried windowed mode so I could try to use save states..nothing. Help please. Do I need a different emulator player thingy? Do I need a better one?

Pcsx is a very old emulator. I suggest you try it on pcsxr-current which can be found here.

and if you want to play Parasite Eve, Ridge Racer Revolution and Sheep Raider with the
HLE-Bios you might want try pcsxr-97187S because with the original there is still some
problem not yet address.
