Hi guys, I used to have my pcsx up and running, then took a break from it for a while, must have installed something which it didn't agree with and now every time I start up an ISO it goes black then closes. running it from terminal came back with the following error message:

user@USER pcsx
X.Org
Gallium 0.4 on AMD CAPE VERDE
pcsx: ../libpcsxcore/ix86_64/ix86-64.c:158: MEMADDR_OP: Assertion `!isreg || reg != 0' failed.
Aborted

I tried reinstalling it but the problem persists. Can anybody help?

Hello Sinknode,

You should try asking in the debian forum to see if they can help.
The link below is a forum for debian system types.

https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/debian-26/

If you are using pcsx-1.9.92 i would recommend you try to compile the latest version of pcsxr to
see if that helps. Here i how to do this for debians.

Make sure you uninstall the current version of pcsxr. Also delete the /home/user/.pcsx and or .pcsxr
directory. __(backup your memory card files first there in /home/user/.pcsxr/memcards.)__

https://pcsxr.codeplex.com/SourceControl/list/changesets "Click download button on the upper right of the page"

In a terminal type : sudo apt-get install subversion autoconf intltool libtool libsdl1.2-dev libgtk-3-dev libxv-dev libxtst-dev nasm libxxf86vm-dev build-essential

Then extract the file you downloaded.

Then type in a ternimal : cd /home/yourusername/Downloads/pcsxr-version

then type: chmod 755 ./autogen.sh

then type: ./autogen.sh

then type: ./configure --prefix=/usr --enable-libcdio --enable-sound=sdl --enable-opengl --enable-sio1

then type: make

then type: sudo make install

Pcsxr-97809S on Linux Kernel 4.1.15 Slackware.
