When playing Castlevania, i had this issue when the game would occasionally behave as though it's FPS has halved (while music played at the same speed), and then would behave normally, but with BGM playing much faster than it should.
Experiencing similar issues in Megaman Legends. Right in the intro level, shooting the very first enemy causes a speed bump which is then compensated for with increased speed emulation.

^ i meant switching ON emulation. That is, the game gets stuck at first "now loading" screen right after the Campcom intro if it is running with BIOS emulation ON.
