Created Unassigned: SaGa Frontier game cannot be saved or loaded [11478]

When attempting to save the game, PCSXR freezes and then shortly after crashes. If I choose load from the main menu the same thing happens. After some research the only answer I could find is that the issue revolved around a problem with the memory card in slot 1, and to solve the issue I have to eject that card, though I have no idea how to do that. In the mean time I will have to rely on savestates.

Commented Unassigned: Video output freezes in battle scenes in Valkyrie Profile [11113]

See here: https://pcsxr.codeplex.com/workitem/4883

A comment was left about the game freezing the video output in combat; that is the exact problem this game has when being emulated.

I've made a post here as well: http://www.ngemu.com/forums/showthread.php?t=154565

Reports say pSX run under a certain flag can correct this issue: http://psxemulator.proboards.com/thread/2038/valkyrie-profile

I've tried multiple GPU and SPU plugins along with most of the emulator options in the 'CPU' dialogue. Nothing's fixed it.

Really don't want to try yet another emulator; I've found my place with PCSXR.

Hopefully someone can look at what pSX is doing when it's running under that 'event reschedule' mode and apply it to PCSXR, with a relevant option of course.

Hello,

I have the same problem with the latest version of PCSX-Reloaded (1.9.93).

I have tried almost everything in the CPU/GPU/Sound configuration, but the problem is still here.

Any help would be gladly appreciated.
Thanks.

Created Unassigned: Controller configuration dialog doesn't appear when controller is connected [11479]

I'm using the Linux version from SVN, with a generic dual PS2-like joypad (where two joypads are connected to the same USB slot). The system recognizes it ok and all buttons register. The controller configuration dialog works normally when the controller is disconnected, but refuses to appear when it connects.
In the game (Saga Frontier in my case, but I strongly believe the game has nothing to do with it), the joypad is unusable. Keyboard buttons respond as normal.

Commented Unassigned: Toshinden 3 - crash after two battles [11302]

Toshinden 3 (NTSC-J) crashes completely after two fights, regardless of character, options or game mode.
Comments: ** Comment from web user: Wrilliam **

NTSC-J crashes the emulator right after the second fight, before returning to the character select screen.
PAL crashes during a third battle.

Commented Unassigned: SF Collection and Toshinden Subaru issues [11170]

Street Fighter Collection (NTSC-J): CD1 works, but no music plays at all. I tried to add Pirate CDR plugin to the list, to no avail. No problems with CD2 so far. The audio tracks are in .bin format for both CDs.

Toshinden Subaru (NTSC-J): Introduction in Team Story mode is messed up - sound plays normally, but video delays too much to appear. After the intro, audio keeps playing, but the game itself hangs. This doesn't occur in ePSXe 1.8.0.
Comments: ** Comment from web user: Wrilliam **

I tried to change SF Collection CD1's CUE file, but their INDEX must be at 00:00:00, otherwise CDmage gives an error upon trying to open it (probably because the audio tracks are separated from the main binary data). Changing the audio tracks' file type from BIN to WAV didn't help either.
Anything else I could try?

On Mac OS X 10.7.5, if I click on the green plus window button to go fullscreen, the image freezes, but the sound still can be heard. Activating fullscreen mode by pressing the escape key works fine.

Could the Mac OS X version get a nearest neighbour filter. is there anything I could change in a plist or ini file to get it now if thats possible?
Comments: ** Comment from web user: MaddTheSane **

A nearest neighbor filter for which plug-in? The softGL plug-in? There might be a shader you can use that might do that, but I'll probably have to set something else up using OpenGL calls.

Commented Feature: [OS X] localization [11237]

Both Linux and Windows have localizations in other languages, OS X only has English. This is in part due to the different way OS X does localization. The Localizable.strings, as well as the .xibs, needs to be translated.
Comments: ** Comment from web user: MaddTheSane **

Someone was generous enough to do the Chinese localization, so if there's no change in the OS X interface, it should be good.

Created Unassigned: Sound has suddenly stopped [11493]

Hello. Pretty new to emulator software. Running Windows 7, plenty of RAM, no issues with the system. I've been running PCSXR for a few days beautifully with no issue, then suddenly today I have no audio on any of my games or the BIOS when I run it. In the audio developer debug mode, it shows no channels muted, with audio output coming out on channels 13 and 14. I have audio on my system otherwise, no other issues. I have sound through web browser and VLC media. I made no changes to the computer except and automatic windows update. I checked that and there doesn't seem to be anything that could possibly interfere with audio. No one else seems to be having this problem. Currently my configuration has the following settings:
Mode: fast mode (this was to eliminate crackling audio. Switching to high compatibility does not solve the issue)
Volume: loudest
Reverb: PSX reverb
Interpolation: Gaussian
Change XA music is checked, as is SPU IRQ.

I am completely baffled. I don't know what could have changed. If anyone has any suggestions or needs more info, please let me know.

New Post: Xbox controller

Hi, Thanks for keeping up the maintenance of this excellent software. I am using the Mac OS X version with an Xbox USB controller. Everything is great so far whilst I have a couple of requests:
  1. How about increasing the customization of the controller plugin. I have a spare "d-pad" control that I could use for saving "freezes", defreezing and browsing them. Then I wouldn't need to keep near the keyboard which is the only other method to save and load these freezes.
  2. I used to use a PSX emulator software called PsxEven, under windows, which was great. I used Pete's plugins mainly but any graphics plugin, if you check to show FPS onscreen, the last number in the line there, is the number of the 'freeze' snapshot presently referenced. With that onscreen you can keep a live check on which freeze you are using and manage them visually. The GPU plugins in PCSX reloaded (for Mac OS X at least) do not show a "live" FPS info line, it is fixed. How about making it live so we can use it as I just described.
Thanks again for updating this soft. I was looking for a PSX emu for Mac OS for ages and the old version of this with the fixed, non-customizable plugins was just too basic. Now it is rocking!

Created Unassigned: Breath of Fire 4 FPS limit problem [11495]

I've got quite the annoying problem while playing BoF4. No matter what I do or what graphic or even sound plugin i use its always the same. FPS Limit ruins the fps in heavy 3d areas like towns or forests. Without it I can run the game at 200 fps with maximizing every image enhancing setting there is but the moment I turn FPS limit on i get terrible slowdowns in those areas.

Whats interesting is that the built in FPS counter doesnt even register the slowdowns but they are VERY noticable its atleast a drop to 30 fps or maybe even lower. So far I tried : Soft Driver 1.17, OpenGL Driver 1.78, Pete's OpenGL Driver 2.9 and Gsdx 1.14 in every instances its the same. I set all the settings off/lowest and all on/max also tried some combinations in between and its always the same with FPS limit on it lags in certain areas while without it its always max FPS which is 200 i guess? Read somehwere that audio plugins might cause slowdowns too so tried direct sound 1.0 and 1.9 but no change.

My pc is a AMD A-5800k Quad@4.4Ghz, 8GB DDR3-2133Mhz and a Radeon 7770 HD 1024MB.

Hope someone knows some solution to this problem of mine as I really enjoy the game and I'd love to enjoy it without those annoying slowdowns. All help greatly appreciated.

I think your file is whole memory card image, so configure your memcard 1 to be that file and you should be able to load those saves off it.
