New Post: How were Abe games fixed?

Hi.

I was trying to incorporate the "Abe's game fix" (aka "no site transparency") into TAS soft video plugin, that was forked from PEOPS. The thing is, PEOPS plugin did have that fix until version 1.5, when Pete removed it and never fixed the very issue.

It looks like both your (pcsxr's) plugins (soft and GL) have it fixed, but I can't figure out how. Or at least, at what step, since pcsxr's video plugin is also also a fork of PEOPS. Can anyone guide me?

Hello Everyone,

Some games discharge button thats being held down. Alundra, Megaman X5,Megaman X6 and Rayman are a few of the games that this bug effects. Games seem to work fine with
SSSPSXPAD plugin.

Hello Everyone,

I just got Parasite Eve to load and save with the HLE-Bios. What i did was i remove
    DeliverEvent(0x11, 0x2); /* 0xf0000011, 0x0004 */ \
DeliverEvent(0x81, 0x2); /* 0xf4000001, 0x0004 */ \
from lines 1758,1759,1792 and 1793 for psxbios.c.

Can some look into this and upload this to pcsxr please.

SCES-02104 the work's until se second level and at the third level third level pcsxr crash (segmentation fault). Perharps a copy protection ? or other i try with 2 games spyro2 PS1 one normal and one platinium.

all work good the world glow , and summers forest and when i go to anything gate after this 2 world the game load and pcsxr crash.

The game doesn't load when i use cpu interpreter mode and debug mode!.

I have only this debug:
No proper fullscreen mode found!
RGB not found. Using YUV.
Using explicit mode id = 59565955.
Using explicit mode id = 59565955.
Using explicit mode id = 59565955.
Segmentation fault

Hello Everyone,

While that fixes parasite eve to a lot of other games were hanging at saving or loading.
So i removed

DeliverEvent(0x11, 0x2); / 0xf0000011, 0x0004 / \
DeliverEvent(0x81, 0x2); / 0xf4000001, 0x0004 / \

from lines 1758,1759 and added this
 if (FDesc[1 + mcd].mode & 0x8000) { \
    DeliverEvent(0x81, 0x2); \
} \

now parasite eve and the other games that were hang seem to work fine.

When using PCSX-R, as well as other PS1 emulators, plugins cannot be accessed once emulation has begun. This is a big problem when users are trying to find the controller 'sweet spot' as each change requires the user to close and reopen PCSX-R.

It would be great if all plugin GUIs are still usable when emulation is paused. Upon changing a setting and clicking ok, a test should be done to see if emulation is in progress, save the current state, apply all changes, then resume emulation by state loading.

I know this all sounds clunky, but to the user it will appear seamless and would be a big sell on your features list to all those who are controller junkies like me. I have a modded console but still prefer emulation due to the controller plugin which takes power gaming to a whole new level.

Not sure what you mean, but check r82713 changes. If that's not it, then just keep going revs down on those plugins until it is not working anymore.

At some instances (I really don't know what triggers it), the screen of Suikoden will suddenly pixelate and the texts start becoming blocks of blue or whatever color, which will make it impossible to follow the story anymore. Please help. Thanks.

Try different GPU plugins and settings if it makes difference.

Closed Issue: GamePad Plugin Problems [5480]

The default GamePad Plugin (SSSPSX PAD Pressure Mod 1.6) doesn't work with my GamePad (PS2 Controller with Super Joybox 5 Pro USB Adapter). I click a button to set and a timeout happens immediately and sets the key to "J0_AXIS6_MIN". I am able to set some of the buttons by holding down the gamepad button before clicking but this doesn't work for all of them.
 
I tried SSSPSX PAD Pressure Mod 1.7 (bundles with pcsx2) but it has the same problem (in pcsx2 or pcsx-r). At the very least pcsx-r should update to 1.7 if it wants to use this as default.
 
ePSXe's GamePad works great with my controller.
pSX's GamePad works with my controller as well (but I have to do the hold down trick, it works for all keys though unlike SSSPSX).
pcsx2's LilyPad works great with my controller.
 
I've tried LilyPad (0.9, 0.10r1825, 0.10r2591) with pcsx-r and they work with pcsx-r for the most part. The esc key does not escape to the emulator when a game is running. If I press the esc key too quick before the game starts then it crashes pcsx-r. LilyPads "Send escape on window close" hack doesn't work with pcsx-r. I've also tried disabling anything I could in the LilyPad Settings and I still get the same issues.
 
I'd like to suggest attempting to support LilyPad as the default GamePad plugin, or at least try to fix the issues with it if possible. Would someone else already of run into this problem and knows a work-a-round please let me know? I'm on a Windows 7 x64 System using pcsx-r 1.9.91. Thanks.

When you copy more than one of the same save to the from the memory card manager
the game only sees the first save the others just appear as "used file" or does not show
up at all.


Tested on Slackware 14 64bit. Pcsxr-90350.

It is a copy protection issue. Don't use the latest stable version. Instead use the latest revision with a SBI file or enable subchannel reading for the real disc.

I mean that the sprites were leaving traces in Abe's games. This is how it looks:

But what's weird, even the plugin that does so in PCSX, doesn't do it in your emulator! So it must be some CPU fix...

The link below has the source for ePSXe that has been modified for DVD5 support for merged discs (as well as the merge scripts themselves) I use a frontend to steamlessly launch all my emulators, and so far i have just multiple launchers for each disc, But if this could be integrated i would love you all forever :D
I hope a dev will find this interesting enough to integrate it.
