Commented Unassigned: Add support for .cso format [11295]

.CSO is a compression method for the ISO image format. It is usually used to compress dumped PlayStation Portable UMD, but also capable for compressing another ISO game console, and is an alternative to the .DAX compression method. It is also sometimes called "CISO".
One advantage of .cso over .ecm is .cso format can be opened faster than .ecm thus make it appropriate as replacement for standard .iso with no or little penalties over performance.

__ckain.__ it works now, but block_size (ciso.c) must be 2352 bytes instead of 2048.

Hello Everyone,

I have been get a segfault when i try to copy 1 block save from card one to card 2
using the hle-bios with pcsxr-90499. This was not a problem in pcsxr-90350.

Hi guys, I am having trouble getting the game BLACK to respond to controller inputs from XBox360 Controller. Lilpad doesn't seem to work, pokopon makes the start button work in certain screens and ssspsx works the same as pokopon but you can advance through the movies in the game, I can't even get to actually playing the game.

Any input?
Comments: psx doesn't have a game called 'BLACK', it's a ps2 game.

Hello Everyone,

This Castlevania Chronicles fix is causing problems with metal gear.

but you have to revert this patch also or you won't hear the sound in metal gear.

Also this 2 patches below are adding lag to Metal Gear.

https://pcsxr.codeplex.com/SourceControl/changeset/56820 (this one is the most noticable one)

https://pcsxr.codeplex.com/SourceControl/changeset/84871 (this one removes lag at revolver acelot fight

but you need to revert patch 56820 so you can notice the difference. )


There is another issue with sound hanging after voices are play but i'm
still looking into it.

Hello Everyone,

When you copy more than one of the same saves from the memory card manager
the game only sees the first save the others just appear as "used file" or does not
show up at all.


Tested on Slackware 14 64bit. Pcsxr-90350.

Yea they all copy as slot 1. They don't change when it changes slots so i guess thats the problem.

I'm running Pcsx-r on a Mac and I'd be interested in learning the details of the compatibility with Gameshark Cheats - I can't seem to get any working. What are the requisites? Does Bios file matter? Region of the Disk? I have created .cht files and loaded then in but still they fail.

Hello 198X,

Not sure if it's the same on Mac but on linux you have to load the game first then load the cheats.

Rated 4 Stars (out of 5) - Emulator is pretty good, I have only one game that doesn't run perfectly. Legacy of main: soul reaver. all in air floating particles, blood and fire are missing. but it is still playable :) only true cons there are that you can't know is there fire in your torch and is there any souls near :D

Yet there isn't anything configured for turbo (fast forward) under preferences. It only happens on the player 1 controller, and happens even if just the keyboard is setup. 10.9.3.

You don't need a game loaded to create/load/edit cheats in mac. You generally want to create the cheats first, then test them after clicking apply and then go on with saving the cheat file. Also remember that you may need to enter in a master code for them to work, I haven't had any issues with the following page (http://www.cheatcc.com/psx/codes/) and getting them to work.

Not sure if it's actually slowdown, since while this happens everything else runs at full speed, but in Spyro 3, Bianca's rainbow that takes her to where she talks to you in various parts of the game is a lot slower than it should be. Not a huge issue but it's something that's there. I've tried different graphics plugins and nothing changes it.

I finally tried out removing all lines with psxReg.cycle in psxmem.c, just thought I'd say that although it did not resolve the problem, the game itself does seem to run a lot smoother.

The current memory manager that the Linux (GTK) port uses and the new one for Mac OS X don't seem to recognize multi-block data. Although games that use multi-block saves are rare, they do exist (Ready 2 Rumble uses two blocks, Descent Maximum uses 3 per save).

Make sure that your pad is not configured that when you press L1 it sends tilde (~) by some gamepad to keyboard mapping.
