I was having the same problem as you, friend- very frustrating. I've got it back to a reasonable speed by going into the SoftGL Driver preferences, enabling "Hacks", and enabling "Use PC FPS calculation". After that, it seems that the "I" key toggles the frame speed change. Hope it helps!

Edit:
After trying this out, it seems to lag a lot. I'm not so sure this is the cure to our ails, unfortunately.

I found the problem: the HandleKey command in the GUI plug-ins was mapping the "i" key sent to it as GPU_FRAME_LIMIT.
I'll look into fixing the attachHotkeys() method to fix this oversight.

OS X: Fix pressing "i" making the emulator speeding up. This was caused by gpuKeypress in HandleKey to interpret the I key as GPU_FRAME_LIMIT. Having the block check for the NSControlKeyMask fixes this.

So I scoured the internet for a solution to this and couldn’t find one.
I compiled the latest release too and it didn't help. (92936)

I'm having a problem in crash bandicoot 3.
When analog is enabled I lose control and the character will only walk up and slightly left.

Some other people have had a similar issue in the past, but a solution was never posted.

Crash 3 is one of the only 3 games I play on PCSXR because I grew up with them, so I'd really love to get this working.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks for reading.

EDIT: Oh also I'm running Lubuntu 14.04 not windows.

Hello AzaIndustries,

I don't know if this will help but you try and use qjoypad and configure the buttons to what pcsxr has them configured.

The controls actually work fine in digital mode.
When I switch to analog it no longer works properly even though I'm still using the same stick that works fine in digital mode and uses the same assignments in setup.

I find the game frustrating without analog movement.
My current setup works fine in Spyro and Crash Bandicoot 2 with analog turned on.
AND if I use an older version of PCSXR it also works fine with the exact same settings.
But I need some of the newer features in the current version.

Thanks though.

New Post: PCSX Reloaded being stolen, misused, and having the GNU GPL license broken

Hello, my name is Derek. I have been developing emulators and such for about 8 years.

Recently I noticed that a website (ps1emulator.com) has been distributing PCSX Reloaded with adware and spyware. Also, on the terms of service page, they claim to have full rights of the software and don't allow modifying, or distribution of source code and/or binaries without permission (http://ps1emulator.com/terms-of-service.html). The privacy policy also states that basically the entire website is advertisements, adware, spyware, and then some. I thought I would bring this to your attention because I don't think this has happened to any other PS1 emulator before, so I can see why this would go fairly unnoticed.

Anyway, if I can help in any way, or if you would like any additional info, feel free to email me.

Thanks,

Derek "Turtle" Roe

PS If anybody has more information, or if anybody would like any additional info, you can also just reply to the thread as long as the information isn't sensitive in any way. Thanks everyone.

New Post: Changing the project for the better (or best :D )

So I have been thinking over the last few months when deciding what kind of changes to implement to what emulators to benefit them the most. And I realized that one thing about PCSX-Reloaded that may be holding it back is the location it resides in.

I think switching to GitHub might be a good step in the right direction. GitHub is more popular with developers, and it works with SVN and Git. There are more reasons, but I think you guys know why I would suggest that.

We should also change the license from GNU GPL v3 to GNU GPL v2+. That way people can choose which license they want to use, so less people complain about v3's issues, and more people commit!

Going back to GitHub for a sec, if you guys would be willing to switch, I could do pretty much anything you guys needed. On CodePlex, I can still update things and report bugs and what not, but it just seems like it would be easier on GitHub. Also, branches. We could have separate branches for different things we are working on. Patches would be easier with pull requests. Plus, full undo and redo commit support. I could go on and on about GitHub. :)

I would be willing to help you copy all issues, and patches and what not to GitHub. I would also be willing to help you guys adjust your source code and directories and things to better suit the change. I think this could really benefit the project. I would only suggest things like this if I really believed it would help.

Feel free to make suggestions, ask questions, or anything else. The point of a discussion is just that. :)

TL;DR Please move the project to GitHub and change the license to GNU GPL v2+. :D

Rated 5 Stars (out of 5) - As far as I can tell with my few months of testing every game in my collection (every NTSC game and a few PAL/NTSC-J exclusives/alternates) using most of the plugins available, the emulator is both the best PS1 emulator (in my opinion), but also one that needs some work as well to make it perfect. However, despite any negatives about the emulator, all of them combined don't matter against the epic awesomeness of this emulator! :O

Commented Unassigned: GTA2 radio and menu. [11772]

First of all, menu doesn't have the music until you restart the game (from the ingame menu). That seems to have happened after merging the ReARMed code for cdrom.

Also, here's a weird bug with one radio station. Start the game, pick a car, drive down and left, while switching the radio to some funk (press Up several times). While you are going to the left (towards the blue arrow phones), the track will become mono and will shift left a bit! If you drive back right, it will become stereo again!

Commented Unassigned: PCSXR - Fast forward is turned on when P1 presses L1 [11736]

Anyone else seen this issue before? I was shocked when I didn't see any search results for it. But the L1 key activates the turbo mode on a blank install. Yet there isn't anything configured for turbo (fast forward) under preferences. It only happens on the player 1 controller, and happens even if just the keyboard is setup. 10.9.3.

There could be a great many things happening here.

First of all, a dump of your PC specs, PCSXR version, OS version, and what plugins you are using would be nice. Let's start there.
